Press Release From the Delaware County Sherriff's Office:

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of three Margaretville area drug dealers on Sealed Grand Jury Indictment Warrants, concluding three separate narcotics investigations conducted by members of the Delaware County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division between March and July of this year.

Deputies and Investigators arrested Christopher H. Fairbairn, 39, of Weaver Hollow Road, Margaretville, on a Warrant charging him with three class “B” felony offenses of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.

Fairbairn is accused of selling heroin in the Town of Middletown on three occasions during the month of March.

Salvatore M. Esposito, 69, of St. Hwy. 28, Margaretville, was arrested on a Warrant charging him with three class “B” felony offenses of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.

Esposito is accused of selling Oxycodone, a narcotic drug, from his Town of Middletown residence on one occasion in early March.  Esposito if further accused of selling Fentanyl transdermal patches from his residence on two occasions in early March.

Karen C. Certain, 62, of Austin Street, Margaretville, on a Warrant charging her with three class “C” felony offenses of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree.

Certain is accused of selling hydrocodone tablets in the Village of Margaretville on three occasions during June and July of this year. While acting on the Warrant of Arrest issued for Certain, Deputies and Investigators discovered marihuana being grown outside Certain’s Austin Street residence.

As a result, Deputies also arrested and charged Robert M. Cline, 61, of Austin Street, Margaretville, with the unclassified misdemeanor offense of Unlicensed Cultivation of Cannabis.  Certain was also arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. Cline and Certain were issued Appearance Tickets returnable in the Town of Middletown Court at a later time to answer those charges.

Fairbairn, Certain and Esposito were arraigned in Delaware County Court on Friday afternoon before County Court Judge Richard D. Northrup, Jr., and were all remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility to be held without bail pending their future appearances in that court.

Undersheriff Craig DuMond remarked, “These arrests remove three dealers from the Margaretville community that have been causing problems for some time.  Our team will continue our relentless pursuit to rid these dealers from our communities and hold them accountable for their despicable actions.  We appreciate our citizen partners and encourage the public to continue the use of our confidential TIP Line 1-888-914-9111.  Together, we can make a difference”.
