I love it. More outdoor hockey this week as the NHL's Stadium Series continues. The outdoor game last month in Ann Arbor drew over 100,000 fans, so it will be interesting to see how the next three draw.

What makes the next outdoor game particularly interesting is that it will be played at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, where the daytime high this week was in the 80's. That game between the Kings and the Anaheim Ducks will be played January 25th, and the ice is down.  Check out this story and video of the process in Los Angeles. Hm, a lot different than when all of us in my Burlington, Vermont neighborhood built our backyard rinks every winter.

Following the LA event, there will be two games at Yankee Stadium. The Rangers will face the Devils January 26th and the Rangers play the Islanders January 29th.  As in the Dodger Stadium preparations, it's fun to see the ice go down in New York, too. Check it out here.

From the looks of the weather report for this week, keeping the ice cool won't be a problem in New York and hockey fans will love it, I'm sure. Not sure we can say the same for those folks coming to town for the Super Bowl.
