Yesterday, the Otsego County Sheriff's Office reported an incident involving an injured hawk on their Facebook page.
The injured Red Tail Hawk was found by Maureen Richter, who had been driving along I88 when she observed the injured bird in the Town of Oneonta.  Deputy Sheriff Koren noticed Richter's vehicle pulled off on the side of road and stopped to see if she needed any assistance.

After assessing the situation with the injured hawk, the deputy was able to connect with a licensed falconer, Sergeant Stalter and an Department of Environmental Conservation Officer to get the hawk to wildlife rehabilitators in Pittsfield.
