Deposit Man Arrested For Assault & Criminal Mischief
On January 30, 2017, at about 1:45 p.m., New York State Police at Deposit arrested Darin D. Wignall, age 25, of Deposit, NY for the felony of Criminal Mischief 3rd degree and the misdemeanors of Assault 3rd degree and Criminal Contempt of Court 2nd degree.
On January 18, 2017, troopers from Deposit responded to a dispute at a home on County Route 20 in the Town of Deposit. An investigation determined that during verbal dispute Wignall punched another man in the head causing a laceration. He also damaged several household items include a window and door all valued at about $500 total. Wignall then drove away before the troopers arrived. It was also determined that his conduct violated a valid order of protection that had been placed against him.
When located Wignall was arraigned in the Town of Deposit Court and was remanded to the Delaware County Jail with bail set at $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 property bond. His next court date in the Town of Deposit is pending.
