The Cupid’s Chase Binghamton 5k Returns To Otsiningo Park
Valentine's Day is less than a week away. Are you excited as I am? Well, I do have my thoughts about the day, but I'll keep my opinions to myself. I will tell you that this Saturday and Sunday, it's our annual 'Love Stinks' weekend on 99.1 The Whale.
Each day, we'll kick off the top of each hour with the best brokenhearted, anti-love Classic Rock songs ever made for those of you who don't have that special someone, or for whatever reason, have an issue with love or Valentine's Day. You're welcome.
And since we're on the subject of Valentine's Day, the annual Cupid's Chase Binghamton 5k is back this Saturday (February 12th) at Otsiningo Park, Binghamton. This 5k race began in 1989 and is still going strong.
Our community is rich with 5k races throughout the year, with many occurring in the spring through fall. The Cupid's Chase Binghamton raises funds and awareness to support housing and employment for persons with disabilities. The race begins at 10 a.m. for runners, joggers, and walkers.
The goal this year is $15,000 dollars. You don't have to be in the race to help. You can make a donation through the Cupid's Chase Binghamton website. Cupid's Chase is organized through Community Options, based in Princeton, New Jersey.
According to the national Cupid's Chase website, there are 5k races are occurring on the same day (Saturday, February 12th) in 35 communities from 10 states across the country, including Binghamton and Syracuse in New York State.
