The Rocky Horror Picture Show is coming to Otsego County, New York for two Spooky Season performances!! The cult classic will be screened with a full shadow cast, audience participation, and tons of shenanigans, the way it was meant to be. The directors and cast intend the shows to feel like what Rocky was when it was everywhere in the 1980s and 90s.
Rocky Horror is much more than just a cult movie that's been shown for almost 50 years. It's a celebration of weirdness and individuality. Come as you are, add to the madness, and always be kind, unless Brad and Janet walk on screen. Then be brutal.
Audience members are encouraged to come in costume, yell lines at the screen, and even throw props!
Stay Sane Inside Insanity
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is an inherently terrible film. Watch it without the added spice of casts and callback lines and you'll see what I mean. Midnight moviegoers in the 1970s began to pick up on this, and started to shout things at the screen. This idea stuck, and evolved into audience participation lines, and the throwing of props at appropriate times over the course of the film. Others got together and began to act the film out in front of the film, and shadow casts were formed, and now Rocky Horror is a fully interactive experience.
Otsego County's shadow cast is called Inside Insanity, and is a revival of a dormant cast that was created in Rockland County, New York in 1992.
Give Yourself Over to Absolute Pleasure
Inside Insanity will be presenting two Rocky Horror Picture Show interactive screenings in Otsego County. The show opens on October 19th in Worcester, New York at the Wieting Theatre. The show will be part of the inaugural Schenevus Shriek Show, the town's first full on Halloween event. It will bring together authors, artists, crafters, and producers specializing in the weird, odd, and wonderful and will run from 10am-3pm with Rocky Horror showing at 7pm. The Wieting show is free, and admission is on a first come, first serve basis.

The second show will take place at the Foothills Performing Arts Center in Oneonta as part of their SHOCK-TOBERFEST event. Featured activities include axe throwing, pumpkin carving, tarot readings, food trucks, vendors, horror makeup demos, local independent film screenings, and sideshow performers.
