The Otsego County Department of Health reports there’s been more than 210 new COVID-19 cases over the past week. Public Health Director Heidi Bond says while COVID-19 vaccination is well underway, there is still a long way to go to reach herd immunity. Bond says one-third of county residents have received at least one vaccine dose. She says the public still needs to wear masks, wash hands and practice social distancing whether or not an individual is vaccinated.

For those seeking the vaccine, first check eligibility here. You can get your vaccine at SUNY Oneonta, a state-run vaccine clinic running 7 days a week, or you can register for an available appointment at an Otsego County run clinic. On April 2 and April 6, there will be COVID-19 vaccine clinics held at the Otsego County Meadows Complex for all eligible candidates. Visit www.otsegocounty.com/departments/d-m/health_department/covid-19_vaccination_clinics.php to register for one of those clinics. Walk-ins are not allowed for any clinic.

For Otsego County residents who are homebound and unable to get out of the house and travel to a vaccination clinic, help is available. If you or someone you know has that situation, please email contact information to covidvaccine@otsegocounty.com. Be sure to include name, physical address and phone number. You may also call the Otsego County Office for the aging at 547-4232.
