There will be an increased police presence again today at Cooperstown Central School as a result of a what school officials are describing as “a non-specific threat of possible physical harm” directed against the CCS administration Wednesday.

Superintendent of Schools Bill Crankshaw issued a statement about the threat and says the Otsego County Sheriff’s department was notified and the threat is under investigation. Yesterday administrators implemented tighter entry protocols for students, staff along with visitors and those are expected to be in place again today.
