Cooperstown lawmakers are working on a mask-wearing ordinance for the downtown business district that they hope to have in place by mid-August. AllOTSEGO reports the ordinance was requested by Mayor Ellen Tillapaugh after village trustees found downtown sidewalks are too narrow to allow social distancing. The opening of sidewalk cafes only adds to the problem. The Village Board is expected to look at a preliminary draft at its Monday meeting.
