According to our publishing partner, AllOTSEGO, during a Village of Cooperstown board meeting, the board voted to allow retailers to bring sidewalk sales back in an effort to assist businesses with revenue. June 1 through October 12 has been declared by the board as “Cooperstown Outdoors”, a special event to promote Cooperstown businesses which continue to suffer during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Board will waving all fees associated with sidewalk sales, but businesses have to provide proof of insurance, and vendors within three feet of a display window must get the owner’s permission. Also being considered is the possibility of closing streets in the commercial district down for select special shopping days to help facilitate better social distancing and attract shoppers to Cooperstown.
