Meet 10 year old Isabelle Ewing, a.k.a. Izzy and Tinkerbell of Oneonta, NY.  One year ago, her life became severely endangered by the rupture of an AVM, an abnormal cluster of veins and arteries fused together on her brain stem.

It's been quite the roller coaster ride since then with ongoing medical treatments and physical therapy, but with the heart and courage of a lion, Tinker forges ahead to improve her health and doesn't let it get her down.  In fact, she's looking forward to a celebration of the 1st anniversary since that AVM ruptured with "Tinkerbell's Unbirthday Celebration/Fundraiser", this Sunday, May 18th, starting at 3pm at Neahwa Park in Oneonta.  The community is invited to this event featuring a fun walk in the park at 4pm ($5 for adults, $2 for kids), fun games for kids, food and drinks, and a surprise at 9pm for Tinker.

Listen below as Sarah Ewing, Isabelle's mom, provides event details and talks about how Tinker's doing now.

For more information or to volunteer, visit Tinkerbell's Dream on Facebook or call (607) 287-4046. Tinkerbell's Unbirthday Celebration/Fundraiser is sponsored by the Oneonta PTO.
