City Of The Hills Festival Planned For September 16-17
It's time again for CANO's City of the Hills Festival! This year will see an expansion, the festival will run for two days, September 16th and 17th from noon to 5pm both days.
Where is the festival?
With a slate of 50 vendors, Main Street will be shut down between Chestnut Street and Elm Street. You'll be able to find family friendly activities and yoga at Dietz and Main Streets as well as at Muller Plaza and City Hall. CANO's galleries will be open, and there will be a live music stage set up as well as a beer garden featuring local brews.
A little history
The City of the Hills Festival is one of two major annual events for CANO, the other being the Chili Bowl in February. The festival is rooted in celebrating Oneonta's arts, culture and community and has been presented for over 20 years. This is the first year the festival has been extended to two days based on previous attendance numbers.
Musical guest...
Musical genres this year include Americana, jazz, jam, folk, college music, burlesque and drag shows. Free live music will take place in Muller plaza as well at CANO. Rocksteady reggae ska rockers Big Takeover will close the festival out on Sunday.
Vendors for all tastes
There will be 50 vendors selling artisan and vintage goods throughout the festival. Look for art, clothing, paper goods, ceramics, and jewelry.
Activities for all ages
Kids activities will be available outside the Greater Oneonta Historical Society. Also featured will be artist demos, creative movement, SUCO's theater program, Foothills Fringe Fest, and the SPCA will have adoptable dogs both days.
