Chenango Woman Charged In Death Of Infant

As a result of an ongoing investigation into the death of a 3-month-old infant in the Town of Pitcher on September 5th, 2013, the Chenango County Sheriff's Office has arrested 38-year-old Geneia M. Rood on a charge of 2nd degree manslaughter.

An autopsy found alcohol in the infant's system and her death was ruled a homicide. Rood was arraigned in Chenango County Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on 50-thousand dollars cash bail.

Rood will appear in Town of Pitcher Court on November 18th.
