Unofficially, voters yesterday approved a $9.6 million capital improvement project for the South Kortright Central School District 206-134. The project will allow for such improvements as a classroom to replace temporary facilities that are more than 30 years old, renovations to the gymnasium that would address Americans with Disabilities Act compliance issues and a new, safer parking lot that would provide additional fire access in case of an emergency. The majority of the funding support for the project is generated by state building aid, the District's Capital Reserve, NYS SMART Bond funds and its debt service fund.
