The City of Oneonta just issued the following statement for City of Oneonta And Town of Oneonta residents:

"The City of Oneonta is experiencing a treated water supply shortage as a result of a break in an 8” high service line on upper West Street. All municipal water customers in the City and Town of Oneonta are hereby asked to immediately comply with water conservation measures, as outlined below, until further notice. The Water Department will issue an update when more information becomes available. The contact person is Water Treatment Plant Chief Operator Stan Shaffer, who can be reached at (607) 433-3470.

Please take the following steps to conserve water:
• Conserve water consumption in all ways possible
• Conduct regular and thorough surveys of your sink and toilet facilities to correct any leaks and reduce toilet tank volumes.
• Inspect your showers to see that water flow restrictions are in place.
• Delay special projects requiring water use and routine flushing of your service lines until the water emergency is lifted."
