Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown is one of 16 hospitals in New York taking part in a pilot program allowing visitors to see patients who are under care for COVID-19. According to Governor Cuomo's Office, the program implemented by the Greater NY Hospital Association and the Healthcare Association of New York State will run for two weeks and visitors will be required to wear personal protective equipment along with undergoing temperature and symptom checks. Over 5,800 people are hospitalized statewide with COVID-19.
