The State Attorney General’s office has cleared a Cobleskill police officer in the death of a man who was run over in 2018. A report stated there was no evidence of wrongdoing by Officer Christopher Sniffen who was on Route 7 in pursuit of a driver when he struck Gerard Roldan III. Sniffen told investigators Roldan was wearing dark clothing and by the time he saw Roldan it wasn’t possible to take evasive action. The Attorney General did offer recommendations to Cobleskill Police to help avoid a future similar incident.
