The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office has arrested the defendants listed below following an investigation into reported drug possession at a residence in the Town of Oneonta. Deputies had initially responded to the residence in an attempt to locate an individual wanted for unrelated charges. While on the scene, deputies discovered that John Nack was in possession of over ten grams of suspected methamphetamine.
A search warrant was subsequently obtained and executed through the Town of Oneonta Court, leading to the discovery of additional controlled substances. Both defendants were taken to the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office. Due to the quantity of controlled substances found in John Nack's possession and his prior felony convictions, he was held at the Otsego County Correctional Facility pending Centralized Arraignment. Samantha Truax was issued an appearance ticket for the Town of Oneonta Court and released.
The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Oneonta Police Department and the Otsego County Probation Department.
