10 Year Old Boy Sells Prized Possession to Benefit Sandy Storm Victims
Here's a question for you - would you sell your most prized position to help others? That's exactly what 10 year-old Rayond from New Jersey has done. He responded to one Townsquare Media radio station's plea for help in a "Restore the Shore" fundraiser to help victims of tropical storm Sandy by giving up his most prized possession - a football autographed by Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz of the New York Giants. The football is being auctioned off the by radio station, 94.3 The Point and the current bid is at $750. Proceeds will help those in the coastal regions of New Jersey which where hit hardest by the storm.
This is just another example of the giving spirit that we have seen nationally but also in our WZOZ listening area since Sandy rocked the East Coast October 29th. This past weekend, there were two Sandy victim benefit concerts in Oneonta alone and it seems every where you turn, people are working together to gather donations to send to people hit hard by Sandy. Keep it up and if you haven't donated yet, remember, no amount is too small. It all adds up when we work together!
