Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two Brick, New Jersey residents on various drug possession charges following a 2:30 a.m. Saturday traffic stop in the Village of Walton. Deputies stopped a speeding vehicle on Stockton Avenue in the Village of Walton. Upon approaching the vehicle the Deputy noted a marijuana odor emanating from the vehicle’s interior. Further investigation and a search of the vehicle by Deputies led to the seizure of approximately one half of an ounce of cocaine in addition to quantities of methamphetamine, ketamine, the synthetic drug known as “Molly”, Marijuana, Marijuana “wax”, various Marijuana infused cookies, candies and syrups, and U.S. Currency.

Deputies report that during their interview of the two men it was learned that Cassie and Maid were traveling from New Jersey to Laurens, where they intended to attend a weekend party and sell the drugs. The driver, 21 year old Jacob Maid, and his passenger, 25 year old William Cassie, were charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a class B felony. Cassie is additionally charged with speeding in zone, Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the Fifth Degree, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Maid and Cassie were each remanded to the Delaware County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail or $100,000 bond. Cassie and Maid may face additional charges upon completion of laboratory analysis and weight of the drugs.
