Sexual Assault & Child Abuse Prevention Month

The Delaware County District Attorney’s and Sheriff’s Office request citizens of Delaware County to pause and reflect that the month of April is National Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Sexual violence, and child abuse are complex issues which cause everlasting emotional anxieties to victims and families and the National Child Advocacy Center says one in four girls and one in six boys will be a victim of some type of sexual abuse before the age of 18.
