Senator Seward Honored Today
(Norwich, NY) Senator James L. Seward of the 51st Senate District will be honored today (Wednesday, November 30) at 12 p.m. at Chase Memorial Nursing Home, 1 Terrace Heights, New Berlin, NY.
At that time LeadingAge New York will present Senator Seward with its “Partners in Quality” Award. Founded in 1961, LeadingAge New York, formerly the New York Association of Homes & Services for the Aging (NYAHSA), represents not-for-profit, mission-driven and public continuing care providers, including nursing homes, senior housing, adult care facilities, continuing care retirement communities, assisted living and community service providers.
Leading Age NewYork released this statement regarding the award:
“LeadingAge New York is an association that represents not-for-profit long term care providers across New York State. We believe that nonprofit providers are the innovators in aging services, and we offer advocacy, education, and policy analysis to help them do their important work. But we can’t do it alone. We rely on elected officials at all levels of government to support investments in long term care services and help ensure that our members, including Chase, can offer seniors the highest quality care and protection. Senator Seward is the epitome of that. We greatly appreciate all the work that he has done on behalf of seniors, and we are pleased to present him with this Partners in Quality Award.”
Members of the community, Leading Age, ChaseHealth and Good Shepherd Communities will be in attendance. Good Shepherd Communities, located in Binghamton NY, and Chase Memorial Nursing Home, in New Berlin NY, have begun a merger that will result in Chase Memorial becoming a part of Good Shepherd Communities. Both organizations are not-for-profit and have served their communities’ senior population for decades.
