The latest Geico ad has me reminiscing. You know, the one with Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner chasing through the desert.

I have vague memories of sipping out of a coffee mug my dad describes as "awfully phallic" as a kid. It was of that perpetually failing coyote.

Did any of you have one of these? Do you remember how they came to be?

They were a KFC promotion in 1992. You paid something like $5 to get them with your meal. This was back when those toys and prizes and merchandise was of some quality -- my dad kept the mugs up until three years ago when he gave them away!

Now, if you're lucky enough to have kept one or all eight, they go for about $15-25 each or nearly $200 for the set. Incredible.

The only one I didn't have was Foghorn. The others included: Daffy Duck, Tweetie Bird, Bugs Bunny, Taz, Wile E. Coyote and Silvester.

Somewhere I have 100 or so vintage Happy Meal toys in a box at my mother's house. Maybe I'll do some digging soon.

What's your coolest novelty find?
