Delaware County Public Health Services officials are warning dog owners to be sure their animals are up-to-date with rabies shots after two canines came into contact with a raccoon in Walton that tested positive for rabies. According to officials one of the two dogs didn’t have a current rabies vaccine and will be in quarantne for the next 6 months.

There are free rabies clinics scheduled for later this month at the Delhi Fire Hall and in August at the Franklin and Sidney Fire Halls: 
July 19, 2017, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at the Delhi Fire Hall.
Aug. 9, 2017, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., at the Franklin Fire Hall.
Aug. 23, 2017, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., at the Sidney Fire Hall.
