More than 200 people came out to a prayer vigil yesterday at Temple Beth El in Oneonta to mourn five Dallas police officers killed in an ambush during another vigil, and the two black men who were killed by police in Louisiana and Minnesota. The event was put together by the NAACP’s Oneonata Branch. Oneonta Mayor Gary Herzig was there,  saying his heart goes out to the families who lost their lives. He commended Police Chief Dennis Nayor and city police for building a community in Oneonta based on acceptance.
