A 35 year old Oneonta man was arraigned recently in the town of Sidney Court on numerous charges and was remanded to the Delaware County jail on $7,500 cash bail. On Saturday night, State Police at Sidney arrested Andrew Adams for the Class D felony of 2nd degree assault, four counts of the Class E felony of aggravated driving while intoxicated with children under the age of 16, four counts of the misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child, the misdemeanor of driving while ability impaired by drugs, the violation of 2nd degree harassment and several other traffic violations. This arrest occurred after an Otsego County 911 report of an erratic driver on Interstate 88 westbound who, prior to troopers arriving, allegedly crashed into a guide rail near mile marker 33 in the Town of Sidney. An investigation determined that Adams was driving while allegedly impaired by drugs when he crashed his Chevy Impala. At the time of his arrest he had his four children ages 8-12 in his car with him. No one was injured in the accident. While being processed for his arrest, troopers say Adams became disorderly and swung and punched at troopers as they additionally restrained him. Adams next court date in the Town of Sidney is on February 26th.
