This Friday evening, Downtown Oneonta will be alive with music, a movie, ice cream and more!  It's the return of Fabulous Friday, a Destination Oneonta event held twice a month, through October and this Friday promises fun for all.

  • 5PM at CANO (Wilber Mansion on Ford Ave.): Opening art exhibition – Shannon Delany (papercuttings inspired by the 150th anniversary of the publication of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland), Sandra Finkenberg (plein air paintings) & June Tyler (displaying her work of prints and drawings)
  • 5pm to 8pm: Enjoy an ice cream social at the Oneonta History Center (corner of Dietz and Main St.).  They'll be making ice cream with an old fashioned, hand-crank machine.  Come by and crank the ice cream maker and enjoy the delicious results.
  • 6pm to 7:30pm: Karaoke in Plaza.  Also during that time, Oneonta World of Learning (OWL) will be there to help the kids make cars out of boxes that were donated by Advantage Maytag, MAMCO and Sears so that they can sit in them for the movie that will be shown in the plaza.
  • 7:45pm: Kids’ Night at the Drive-in (in the Plaza) - A showing of the movie “Home”, a very fun animated movie about an alien on the run from his own people, lands on Earth and makes friends with the adventurous Tip, who is on a quest of her own. Popcorn will be provided by the American Legion.
  • Northern Eagle Beverages will be serving free samples of beer from Cooperstown Brewing Company.
  • More Art Space (77 Main St.):  "Learning how to see in the dark" - an informal discussion with artists Alexandra Rojas-Castrucci and Andrew Castrucci at 6pm.  Sky Miritello and Elizabeth Raphaelson will play music at 7pm.
  • Art exhibit by Disa Sherril Berry at The Autumn Cafe
