NYS Senate Majority Leader, Dean Skelos, Resigns Post

Following his arrest, Dean Skelos has stepped down from his post.

The Republican leader will be replaced by Long Island GOP Senator James J. Flanagan.  Within a span of just 16 weeks corruption charges have dethroned the two top leaders in the NYS Legislature.  Assembly leader Sheldon Silver, the Democratic leader, stepped down in January following his own corruption charges.
