Vance M. Brown, MD, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bassett Healthcare Network has announced the selection of Dr. Anne Gadomski, senior research scientist and pediatrician at Bassett Medical Center, as Director of the Bassett Research Institute to succeed Dr. John May effective May 2, 2016.  In making the announcement, Brown said, “A national search that began last summer yielded three excellent finalists with Dr. Gadomski emerging as the clear choice to assume the leadership of Bassett’s research mission. She brings a tremendous amount of knowledge to bear on the position having been a research scientist and pediatrician at Bassett for the past 22 years and involved in the field of health services research for 30 years. It was quite evident to the search committee that Anne possesses the skills, experience and desire to build on Dr. May’s leadership and take Bassett’s clinical research mission to the next level.” In addition to assuming directorship of the Bassett Research Institute, Gadomski will retain her position as an attending pediatrician at Bassett Medical Center. She earned her medical degree from University of Rochester, and her master’s degree in public health and postdoctoral degree from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland. She completed her pediatric residency at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. “I am delighted to pursue this next chapter in my professional career because I think that research is critically important to improving population health as well as improving  patient outcomes,” said Gadomski.
