My family and I headed south to Delaware and Virginia for our Spring vacation last week.  I must say that there's one particular place I can't get enough of, that I visit every year--Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA.  If you yearn for blooms, the sweet perfume of blossoms, and lush greenery as far as the eye can see, then this is a MUST SEE destination!  Longwood is internationally renowned and people come from all over the globe to take in the incredible indoor and outdoor gardens which are ever changing.   This is a great place to visit for families since they have 3 amazing tree houses and an outdoor and indoor children's garden that will keep them very busy and happy.

Another great place to visit that's right outside of Philadelphia in Camden, NJ is the Adventure Aquarium. I must say that this is my favorite aquarium to date.  It was very kid oriented with several "touch tanks" that included sharks (I know!), sea anemones, sea cucumbers, various rays, star fish and more.    My favorite feature was the "Shark Tunnel" where you walk through an aquarium tunnel with sea life swimming above and around you.  Very cool!

The great thing about both of these attractions is that they are relatively close.  The drive from Oneonta is roughly four hours for either place.  Longwood is very large and you could spend an entire day there to take it all in or just a few hours if you want to be selective about what you see.  The Aquarium takes about two hours to go through.  You could do both in a weekend and trust me, they're both worth the trip!
