Hollywood Vampires Tour Will Continue, Joe Perry’s Status Still Unclear
The Aerosmith guitarist staggered offstage early into the Hollywood Vampires' concert last night in New York. It was later reported that he suffered cardiac arrest, but stabilized under doctors' care.
The Vampires had previously announced tour dates through July, with the next show set for tomorrow in Kettering, Ohio. "We WILL see you in Ohio tomorrow night and for the rest of our dates!" Cooper wrote on Twitter. "Thanks for supporting Joe!"
Perry could get through only the first moments of the Hollywood Vampires' show at the Ford Amphitheater on the Coney Island Boardwalk last night. The group continued to play after he left the stage and EMTs rushed away Perry.
Earlier today, TMZ caught up with Cooper and asked for updates on Perry and their tour together. Cooper didn't know at the time if the dates would be played, though he said he would "hopefully" be able to visit Perry. Cooper also reiterated that the guitarist was in "stable" condition.
The Hollywood Vampires' all-star lineup in Brooklyn also included drummer Matt Sorum of Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver, guitarist Johnny Depp and Robert DeLeo of Stone Temple Pilots. The group released a self-titled album last year featuring guest turns by Dave Grohl, Brian Johnson and Paul McCartney, among others. All artist proceeds were being donated to MusiCares.
