On Monday, November 21, Hartwick College will dedicate the men’s locker room complex to the former College President and Mayor of Oneonta Richard P. (Dick) Miller, Jr. in a ceremony at Binder Physical Education Center. A reception will be held at 5:30 p.m., prior to the 6 p.m. ceremony, after which tours of the new Dick Miller Locker Room facility will be given.

The refurbished complex on the third floor of Binder Physical Education Center includes brand new lockers, showers and shower partitions, lights and light fixtures, paint, wall tile, and a 10’x 25’ wall mural highlighting Hartwick men’s athletics.

Funds for the Dick Miller Locker Room Complex were raised through the recent record-setting Campaign for Students. Former Trustee Robert E. (Bob) Spadaccia ’70 was the lead donor to the project.

The Complex is the home of the Calvin W. Chase ’71 Men’s Soccer Team Room, the Dale L. Rothenberg Swimming & Diving Team Room, and the Mary S. ’73 and Neal K. ’72 Miller Men’s Basketball Team Room. These rooms, also named as part of the Campaign, received upgrades including flat screen televisions, custom wood lockers, and rubber flooring.

Hartwick College President Margaret L. Drugovich and local business owner/community leader Richard (Rick) Eastman will offer remarks at the ceremony.

Miller served as the College’s ninth president, from 2003 to 2008. During his presidency he was steadfast in his efforts to enhance the fiscal and physical well-being of the campus.
