Coming up July 15th through 24th is the Greater Chenango Cares event, which is a joint partnership with the Department of Defense which provides an opportunity for residents in Chenango and adjacent counties to participate in a no cost military training program Known as Innovative Readiness Training.  Chenango County has been chosen once again this year to receive dental, vision, veterinarian and medical services.  Dental and vision appointments have been filled but you can get on a waiting list.  To make an appointment call Chenango United Way 607-334-8815.  For more information go to Facebook.com/GreaterChenangoCares, email greaterchenangocares@gmail.com or visit volunteer.chenangoouw.org/aem.  There are no income or insurance requirements and residents in surrounding communities are welcome to take part.

There will be a free bus Tuesday, July 19 and Thursday July 21 to the Free Health Program in Norwich. It will leave at 8:45 a.m. from the Oneonata West End Plaza Dollar Store at the intersection of Chestnut and Winney Hill Road and come back to Oneonta at the end of the day's event. OPT passengers can transfer to the 8:30 a.m. West End Bus to get there in time.  Riders must call OPT and make a reservation at 432-7100.
