A former Otsego County Sheriff’s deputy will be on probation for five years on his plea deal to charges of possessing and selling stolen firearms. According to a news release Arnold Carroll of Maryland was also fined $10,000 and will perform 150 hours of community service. Prosecutors say Carroll stole the weapons between 1995 and 2007 while being in charge of the sheriff office’s evidence locker selling some of the firearms to a gun store. Carroll entered the guilty plea in February.
