Fatality In Sherburne Accident

A two vehicle accident in the Town of Sherburne Monday morning left one man dead and another with injuries to the face and leg. The Chenango County Sheriff's Office reported that a vehicle traveling North on State Route 12 just before 10:30 a.m. near Knapp road, crossed the center lane and struck a vehicle traveling South. The operator of the northbound vehicle was pronounced dead at St. Elizabeth's hospital in Utica. His name has not yet been released. The southbound vehicle is said to have been driven by Lance Yerton of Sherburne. Yerton was also taken to St. Elizabeth's Hospital with face and leg injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
