Looking for something fun and different to do with your kids this Saturday?  Otsego County Conservation Association has just the thing: they'll be doing a family scavenger hunt in Robert V. Riddell State Park, just outside of Oneonta.  My family and I have been to this park and it's beautiful with scenic trails along the creek and through fields and wooded areas.

Participants will be given a map and a list of items to search for, including wildflowers, leaves, scenic vistas, and other examples of the park’s natural beauty that can be found in the 200-acre field and creek portion of the park. Bring a camera, phone and/or some paper and a pencil to document your findings, and a sense of adventure.

Meet at the main entrance to Robert V. Riddell State Park on State Route 28, just north of I-88 exit 17, at 11 a.m. This program is suitable for all ages and is free, though pre-registration is requested. Individuals as well as families can register online at occainfo.org or call (607) 282-4087.
