State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli says a pair of audits resulted in the recovery of over $160 million in drug rebates under New York’s Medicaid Drug Rebate Program. The audits also found more than $78 million in rebates have not been submitted to drug manufacturers, but could still be collected by the state Department of Health In a news release diNapoli says the state Department of Health deserves credit for taking steps to correct the errors and inadequate procedures the auditors found and recoup the money that rightfully belongs to taxpayers.
