State police at Norwich arrested a Sherburne man Tuesday for the class D felony of Assault  2nd degree, and the class A misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child.  26-year old Brandon Thomas was arrested after troopers received a child abuse report from the Onondaga County child Protective Services earlier this month.  An investigation determined that a 9 month old boy from Sherburne had been taken to Upstate Bone and Joint Center in Syracuse by his biological mother and her live in boyfriend, and had a suspicious fractured left femur and suspicious fracture left radial bone. A further investigation had determined that the boy had his leg and arm broken while under the care of the live in boyfriend Thomas earlier in December. Thomas was arraigned in village of Sherburne Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on 20 thousand dollars cash bail. The child has been placed in the custody of another family member.
