The reservoirs at the Blenheim-Gilboa Pumped Storage Power Plant in Schoharie County are being opened for recreational boating. The New York Power Authority says the upper and lower reservoirs west of Albany open for the season today. Only rowboats, canoes and kayaks can be used on the upper reservoir. Gasoline-powered boats can be used on the lower reservoir. The public fishing access along the Schoharie Creek below the lower reservoir also will open for the season today.
