Absconding Sex Offender to Face More Charges

A Level 3 sex offender and parole absconder apprehended by members of the Delaware County Sheriff's Office and United States Marshal's Office on Wednesday morning will face additional charges.

John K. Cumo, Jr., 32, of Walton was arrested Thursday morning and charged in relation to two break-ins at seasonal properties in the Town of Hamden. Cumo has been charged with one count of criminal trespass in the second degree, one count of criminal trespass in the third degree, and two counts of criminal mischief in the fourth degree.

On Wednesday morning law enforcement officials found Cumo hiding in a garage of a seasonal residence located on Back River Lane in Hamden. Cumo was taken into custody on a parole warrant without incident and is currently being held in the Delaware County Correctional Facility without bail pending further action by the Division of Parole.

Cumo will be arraigned on the new charges in the Town of Hamden Court at a later time.
